We make movie night fun by getting a treat before or after the movie.
My dh and I go to the movies infrequently, due to the cost of tickets. But we make an exception for the Harry Potter films! If I win that's what we will be seeing. With the extras, maybe I can bribe him into seeing a "chick flick" with me!

I've taken my kids to movies since they were tiny, and they love movies along with me now. Usually we go to the matinee/late afternoon shows to save money. Movies become a special event because we talk about them afterwards, together. They have wonderful perspectives, and I love listening to their opinions.
